Program Structure

The program consists of 36 credit hours. Students are required to complete twelve courses. The program is based on a cohort model, in which a group of students moves through all classes and phases of the program together. Below is a layout of this model and course offering. Courses are offered, simultaneously in a given term, in ten-week sessions.

Acceptance is based upon several factors: previous academic performance, professional work experience, and letters of recommendation. An ideal candidate would possess a baccalaureate degree and three (3) to five (5) years of progressive and significant work experience at the management or supervisory level. Applications to the Online Executive MBA Program are reviewed on an ongoing basis. To be considered for admission to the program, applicants must provide:

  • An official transcript of all undergraduate course work
  • Evidence of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
  • A statement of purpose
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • At least three years of progressive and significant experience at the management or supervisory level and
  • A current professional résumé.

Executive MBA Admissions Process

Admission to the IIU Executive MBA requires a combination of application materials submitted by you and others and an interview with the Admissions Committee. You will need to compile several documents for your application packet, some of which require careful consideration and work.

  • Completed application
  • Completed bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
  • Five-plus years of management, senior management, or executive business experience
  • GPA: Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, however, the age of GPA and the level of degree and rigor will be considered in the evaluation
  • GMAT: The GMAT may be waived for qualified candidates
  • GMAT Code: 09D-TL-19
